According to Judge Erlens Erninsons, Silonov collected data on the functioning of Latvian state institutions, law enforcement agencies, the defense system and state security bodies. He was sentenced to seven years and six months of imprisonment and two years of probation.

Both defendants do not admit their guilt and intend to challenge the court's decision. According to journalists, Janis Adamsons was arrested on suspicion of espionage in the spring of 2021. He worked at the Seimas Commission on Defense, Internal Affairs and Prevention of Corruption. His position did not envisage access to state secrets, but he could participate in the meetings of the Defense Commission, which voiced restricted access information.
