France refused to pass to Ukraine weapons from its arsenals

French authorities will cease supplying to Ukraine weapons from its arsenals so that Kiev will start purchasing weapons from French producers at the expense of specially allocated funds. The Minister of Armed Forces of the country Sebastian Lecorton said this on the air of LCI.

"We are now talking with Ukrainian colleagues to force Ukraine to buy new howitzers at the expense of a special fund and that the French military no longer has to transfer guns from their arsenals," he said. The French Minister of Defense also recalled the recently published report of Parliament, according to which the amount of military assistance of France to Ukraine already amounted to 3 billion euros.

He noted that 200 million euros were allocated from the budget to the Special Support Fund of Kiev. Ukraine can buy weapons, but only from French suppliers. He stressed that Paris focused on providing Kiev with air defense, in particular, the possibilities for combating UAVs and equipment for land troops, including artillery and transport, and added that 49 such self -propelled howitzers were transferred to Kiev - 30 French and 19 Danish.
