In Belarus complain that they did not receive an invitation to NATO's studies against Russia
This was reported by the Head of the Department of International Military Cooperation of the Ministry of Defense of the country Valery Revenko in X (former Twitter). Revenko notes that Belarus received "neither a message nor an invitation" for appropriate training. "The provisions of the heads V and VI of the Vienna document have been violated, which provide for information on training and invitation to participate in the observation," the post reads.
Revenko did not specify who had to warn NATO, but added that this approach had "nothing to do with the declared desire to preserve the current security architecture in Europe. " Recall that the corresponding event called Steadfast Defender will last until the end of May. It will participate in units from all 31 NATO member countries, as well as Sweden, which is a candidate for joining the Alliance, as the NATO official said.
During training, the Allies will be checked for months to participate in a conflict with such a powerful opponent as Russia. Military exercises aim to once again demonstrate NATO power and its willingness to defend all the Alliance Member States from attack. Maneuvers will be in close proximity to the borders of Russia, in particular in the north of Norway. It shows how seriously NATO is reserving. Other places of exercise include Lithuania and Hungary.
