Football coach Yevgeny Poroshenko explained that he had commanded the children to run to shelter. According to him, most managed to hide, but four were reached when the explosion occurred - they were fragile. About one and a half thousand children study at the Sports College. Now that classes and living quarters are destroyed, their parents take them home, - the authors of the plot said. Another building that came under Russian shelling is a kindergarten.

According to him, five children were injured, but most of them came to the shelter in time. In addition, eight adults were injured.
