In Kiev, the head of the Presidential Office Andriy Ermak met with Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kastutis Budris. Andriy Yermak thanked Lithuania for his defense assistance to Ukraine. It was the continuation of military support from partners that was one of the key topics of discussion. Particular attention is a strengthening of sanctions against Russia.
The head of the Presidential Office noted the consistent support of the sanction policy by Lithuania and stressed: it is important that the 18th EU package contains sanctions against the banking and energy sectors, the shadow fleet, and secondary restrictions. According to Andrei Yermak, sanctions will be especially effective in the case of consistency with the US, Norway, Canada, the United Kingdom and Japan.
