Attack on NPS "Unech": Most pumping installations have disabled (photo)
Judging by satellite images, the pumping station building was completely destroyed due to the attack and fire: the roof collapsed along the entire length of the structure, several technical premises and part of the technological equipment were destroyed. Most of the pumping installations are disabled. The attack on the NPS "Unecha" became the second in August. The first strike on August 12 led to the destruction of two pumping stations and nearby equipment.
The station plays a key role in the transportation of Russian oil: through it, the supply of raw materials for export to the port of Ust-Lug. The station is also designed to provide supplies to Belarusian refineries in Mozyr and to pump oil to Slovakia and Hungary. Repeated blows to the facility undermined the stability of the work of the Druzhba oil pipeline and posed a threat to the energy security of Central Europe.
Commenting on the attack on the NPS, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Siyarto said that this node of the Druzhba oil pipeline plays a key role in the energy security of his country. The Minister called on Ukraine "not to jeopardize the energy security of Hungary and to stop the attacks on the energy supplied in Hungary. " We will remind, on August 22 it became known that Hungary and Slovakia officially appealed to the European Commission due to an attack on the oil pipeline "Friendship".
