The media noted that the coach lives abroad for about a year and has even managed to work in the Russian team. However, the Ministry of Export was denied and added that all members of the delegation had returned home. Tennis team coach Oleksandr Tomarev, responsible for returning the team home from Australian Open 2024, did not come to Ukraine after the collection and worked in the Russian team. By order of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine, Oleksandr Tomarev was appointed responsible for ensuring the participation of athletes and for the return of the official delegation of the national team of tennis to Ukraine. At the head of the delegation on Australian Open on January 6, he left the country. The competitive fee lasted from January 6 to February 2. After the competitive gathering, the trainer did not return to Ukraine.

Later, he got into a tennis team for a meeting twice - from February 28 to April 5 in the United States and from April 16 to May 18 in Poland. He later sought financial support for refugees from Ukraine. Oleksandr Tomarev also worked in a team of neutral tennis player with the Russian passport Daria Kasatkina. It happened in October 2024 at the WTA tournament in Uhan (China).

"Members of the delegation traveling abroad in accordance with personal receipts on return to Ukraine have returned to Ukraine.
