The EU has not yet agreed on how to use frozen assets of the Russian Federation - a European Commission representative

According to the diplomat, discussions with allies on the block continue. The official statement about the possibility of using frozen assets of the Russian Federation was postponed to a later date. Discussions are currently underway with the European Union Member States on possible measures to use Russian assets in favor of Ukraine. This is stated in the material "RBC-Ukraine".

Initially, it was expected that in the summer the European Commission would present an official statement in which it will be clarified how the pan -European mechanism of use of Russian assets will function. However, it was later decided to postpone this submission for a later period, specifically for autumn.

According to the official representative of the European Commission, discussions with the Member States of the European Union on the way of using Russian assets are currently underway, but these discussions are moving forward. "We work with the Spanish chairmanship on the study of a step -by -step approach. We support these discussions with a joint unofficial EC and EU Foreign Affairs Document, which we have submitted to the chairmanship at the end of July.

We are ready to submit a legal proposal, taking into account these discussions," he said. We will remind that representatives of the European Union on September 7 begin a series of meetings to discuss the introduction of income tax from frozen assets of the Bank of Russia. These funds, according to the European Commission Plan, the EU Executive Body, will come to the Union budget and will continue to be used to assist in the restoration of Ukraine.
