The "pro -Russian" Fitzo won. Will Slovakia become the second Hungary and how will it affect Ukraine?

The elections in Slovakia are not so interesting as they scare us. After all, if Slovakia becomes "the second Hungary", then the support of Ukraine will weaken, and therefore our defense capability will weaken. International Relations Expert, Elijah Kusa explains why several significant mistakes are made in this approach. Elections in Slovakia and we. Probably for the first time, I see such a huge media interest in elections in neighboring Slovakia.

On the one hand, it is good, because my colleagues at the Institute of the Future have always drowned for the priority of relations with our neighbors, and for being more and more often deepened in their agenda.

On the other hand, it is very visible how we go to the same unsuccessful foreign policy approach as after 2014, when a large part of the rate is made on an unreasonable belief in preserving the political situation and the status quo in the west on which ours is held EU and NATO's financial and military support. Therefore, in fact, we are not so interested in the elections in Slovakia as they scare us.

After all, if Slovakia becomes "the second Hungary", according to our media, then the support of Ukraine will weaken, and therefore, our defense capability will weaken. In this approach, there are several significant mistakes that we could not build a normal security architecture after 2014: I personally do not expect any fundamental shifts from the election result. The big question of what a new coalition will be, and whether Robert Fitzo's party will be so influential in this coalition.
