Defense support of Ukraine and holding Russia accountable: Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Dick
“The Russians do not even try to hide that all Ukrainian life for them is a target. And these drones, their aircraft, rockets, they launch, though on the order of their Putin, but other people do it. And each of these Russian murderers is a military criminal. Everyone should be responsible, ”the President emphasized.
According to the Head of State, this is why one of the directions of joint work with the Netherlands and other partners is legal mechanisms that can ensure the actual attraction of Russian military criminals to justice, as well as complete compensation for Ukraine's losses from Russian aggression. It was among the topics of discussion during today's meeting with Dick Scoop, and the Netherlands team also supports it.
The Prime Minister of the Netherlands stressed that Russia does not want to achieve just and sustainable peace, but on the contrary, increases attacks on Ukraine's civilian infrastructure. He emphasized that Russia should be responsible for its crimes. During the meeting, the leaders discussed the strengthening of sanctions against Russia. The President emphasized that Ukraine is expecting the approval of the 19th EU sanctions and further pressure on the Russian military machine.
Volodymyr Zelensky informed Dick Schidoff about the situation in Ukraine, in particular on the battlefield. “Ukraine is very appreciated by each defense support formats from the Netherlands. These are the military assistance packages that contained Petriots and the F-16, we also appreciate the participation of the Netherlands in such, undoubtedly important programs as Purl, which enables us to buy American weapons-a shortage that is not in Europe first, ”the President said.
Dick Shoiof noted that the Netherlands will continue Ukraine's defensive support, in particular as part of Purl's initiative. In addition, the Netherlands is an active participant in Ramstein and the Global Coalition of those who, according to the Head of State, will become the basis for a multilateral guarantee of Ukraine and all of Europe. Volodymyr Zelensky stressed that work is ongoing for the full launch of this system. Ukraine expects the participation and active support of the Netherlands.
The meeting was separately about energy challenges for Ukraine through Russian blows. The President appealed to the Netherlands to think about additional help. The leaders also discussed the continuation of political cooperation, in particular at the EU level. The Head of State stressed that Ukraine has fulfilled its obligations to open clusters and expects the relevant movement on the European side.
