"Will be a victory of blackmail": the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine responded to a possible weakening of sanctions against the Russian Federation

According to the spokesman of the Foreign Ministry Oleg Nikolenko, the weakening of sanctions against the Russian Federation in exchange for the restoration of the grain agreement will be the victory of food blackmail. The position of Kiev remains unchanged.

On September 8, a spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine stated that on September 8, the weakening of sanctions against the Russian Federation in exchange for the restoration of the grain agreement would be a victory of Russian food blackmail and will increase the feeling of impunity of Moscow. He made the corresponding post on Facebook.

He emphasized the invariability of the Ukrainian position that weakening sanctions against the Russian Federation will lead to a new blackmail by the Kremlin. "The position of the Ukrainian side remains unchanged: the weakening of part of the sanction regime against the Russian Federation in exchange for the restoration of the grain agreement will be the victory of Russian food blackmail and the invitation of Moscow to new waves of blackmail," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.

He stressed that the world should return the Russian Federation to fulfill its obligations, not to offer concessions. "The international community must work on the return of Russia to fulfill its obligations, not to strengthen its feeling of impunity and not encourage new aggression, offering concessions," Nikolenko emphasized.

The Foreign Ministry spokesman stressed that Ukraine is ready to continue exporting grain to the world markets, in particular to the countries of Africa and Asia, both within the Black Sea Grain Initiative and through alternative routes. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine responded to the German edition of Bild that the UN allegedly offers Russia the restoration of the "grain agreement" on favorable conditions for Moscow, including the actual cancellation of sanctions.

The publication refers to the "secret letter" of the UN Secretary General Anthony Guterresh to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov. According to the newspaper, in a letter to Lavrov, Guterrish allegedly proposes "four specific cornerstones of agreements between the UN Secretariat and the Russian Federation", which "should lead to the restoration of the Black Sea initiative.
