Putin's niece from the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation came under US sanctions

The sanction lists were Deputy Minister of Defense Anna Tsivilev and four more top officials from the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. The US Ministry of Finance has submitted to the sanctions lists of Deputy Defense Minister Pavel Fradkov, Andriy Bulig, Alexander Fomin, Viktor Goremikin and Anna Tsivilov, niece of Russian President Vladimir Putin. This was reported on Wednesday, October 30, the US Ministry of Finance press service.

Fomin was appointed Deputy Minister of Defense in early 2017, Goremikin - in July 2022, Buliga - in March 2024, and Fradkova - in June, after the appointment of Andrei Belousov by a new head of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. Earlier, Fradkov worked as Deputy Head of Affairs of the President of the Russian Federation. Fradkov's father-Mikhail Fradkov, former Director of Foreign Intelligence Service and Prime Minister of the Russian Federation.

The cousin of Vladimir Putin, Anna Tsivileva, also came under sanctions (Putin's name is indicated on the Ministry of Finance's website). More than 30 people have added to the sanction list, including not only Russians, but also citizens of India, China, Turkey, Switzerland, Montenegro and Chile.

The sanctions also touched more than a hundred Russian and international companies, such as Chip and DIP, the manufacturer of semiconductors Angustre, the developer of the aircraft and space systems of the Star, as well as several scientific institutions, in particular the Institute of Engineering Physics and the Institute for Information Transfer Problems. Persons who have been imposed by sanctions will be banned from entering the United States, and their assets in the country will freeze.

It will also be forbidden to enter into agreements with companies that have come under sanctions and their assets will also be frozen. Anna Kivileva is the wife of the Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation and the former Governor of the Kemerovo region Sergei Kivilev. The Kremlin's official messages have never mentioned the family relationship of civilian with Putin.

The official biography published by the Kremlin propagandists says that her maiden name Loginov, although in reality it is a first name. The Russian media wrote that the real name of the woman is Putin, she is the daughter of a cousin of Russian dictator Eugene Putin. In the 90's, Putin married a psychiatrist Lev Loginov and changed his name.

On October 4, it became known that Putin had assigned his niece to the civilian rank of a real state advisor of the 3rd grade, which corresponds to the military rank of Major General and Rear Admiral. Anna Kivileva holds the post of Deputy Minister of Defense since June 2024. She also manages the Fatherland Defenders Foundation. The EU countries were submitted to the civil lists in December 2023.
