The ISS will ask for additional funds for the investigation of Russia's crimes - The Guardian

The ISS Prosecutor will ask at the London conference more money for investigating war crimes committed by the Russians in Ukraine. According to the media, this will include the persecution of Vladimir Putin and the supervision of the abduction of minor Ukrainians. The prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, Karim Khan, will serve at a conference in London and ask for additional funds for investigation of military crimes of Russia.

In particular, the money will go to the persecution of the leader of the aggressor country Vladimir Putin and the supervision of the abduction of Ukrainian children. About it writes The Guardian. Putin's arrest warrant called the journalists a "dramatic step" on the eve of a conference aimed at raising money to finance the investigation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Military Crimes of Russia. Currently, there are 40 investigators in Ukraine.

Also, the warrant, according to the media, can reduce the requirements for the creation of a special tribunal for the Russian Federation. Khan insists that the ISS has the necessary powers to pursue the leadership of the aggressor country, but the court criticizes the gap in accountability. It is believed that the tribunal could be more effective without proving the cause and effect relationships between individual crimes and the Kremlin.

The conference is organized by the governments of the United Kingdom and the Netherlands, and more than 40 countries will participate. The British are going to give the ISS additional £ 395 thousand. Representatives of Ukraine - Minister of Justice Denis Masus and Prosecutor General Andriy Kostin should also visit the conference.

According to media, the United Kingdom and several other countries did not support the idea of creating a tribunal because of excitement that it could undermine the work in progress of the ISS. We will remind, the warrant for the arrest of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin issued the ISS on March 17. The warrant was also issued by the Commissioner under the President of Russia on the rights of the child Maria Lviv-Belova.
