The EU has sent Ukraine 400 million from the frozen assets of the Russian Federation, they bought 18 Bogdan SAUs, - the EU Ambassador
This statement was made by the EU Ambassador to Ukraine Katarina Mernova, Interfax-Ukraine reports. The diplomat calls it a significant change in European policy, since the total amount of 400 million was directed directly to the Ukrainian defense industry. This is done to support the Ukrainian MIC, which produced products faster and cheaper, and to make logistics more convenient. "It supports the Ukrainian economy," the ambassador said in an interview with the agency.
According to her, Denmark was the leader in this process, which was the first to help direct the funds invaded from frozen assets. It is reported that in addition to the already provided 400 million euros for the purchase of weapons of Ukrainian production, additional funds will be allocated. The ambassador also mentioned that it could not say how much funding of the Ukrainian military industry has increased - the decision has not yet been approved.
Of the 18 Bogdana purchased, two -thirds financed the European Union, income from the frozen Russian assets, said the motherhood. The diplomat also expressed the hope that other countries will also follow the example and "use incredible innovations in Ukraine" in the defense industry as a platform for investment.
The Ambassador also said that on September 17, the President of the European Commission proposed the candidature of Lithuania Andrew Kublyus for a new position of European Commissioner in Defense Industry. According to her, he is a great friend of Ukraine, who contributes to the cooperation of Ukraine and the defense industry of Europe. Recall that the Russian Federation sends to the war in Ukraine weapons without prior trials.
