"Not a contract or sale": Thales commented on rifles testing by the Armed Forces fighters

The concern noted that they could not comment on the supply of weapons to Ukraine before, because there was no agreement between the parties. The Ukrainian military can soon get modern Acar machines from a large company from France Thales. About it writes a local newspaper Les échos in its new material of August 16. According to journalists, the first small parties of weapons were already sent to Ukraine in July this year.

The Armed Forces fighters in the short term were to test the Acar machines and then make their rating. At the same time, in a comment to Thales, a representative of Thales immediately stated that it was not about any signed agreement with the Ukrainian side. "This is not a contract or sale. That is why we have not yet made any messages," the message reads.

It is noteworthy that the ACAR machines have been registered exclusively in the Australian market, but now Thales plans to diversify its client base, or in other words to expand. Les Echos noted that testing of weapons by Ukrainian military will allow the concern to improve the rifle in the future and to present at the next weapons exhibitions. Focus has already been reported that this type of weapon was presented for the first time in October 2022 at the Land Forces exhibition.

The standard variant of assault rifles is produced under the cartridge of 5. 56 mm NATO, as well as under cartridges 7. 62 mm and 300 Blackout. There is also an option for a more rare caliber of 6. 8x51. It is noteworthy that the capacity of the store is from 20 to 30 rounds, and the weight of such a machine does not exceed 2. 7 kilograms. It should be reminded that on August 15 it was reported that Sweden plans to assist Ukraine for more than $ 300 million.
