Foreign Ministry of Ukraine about the death of a student from Zambia: Africans should not die because of Putin ambitions

The African student was sentenced to drugs in Russia, then sent to the war in Ukraine. In September, the Kremlin reported that the guy was killed on the front. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine responded to the death of an African student in the Russian-Ukrainian war. The Foreign Ministry speaker Oleg Nikolenko called on the Twitter page to call the African states not to release their citizens to fight against Ukraine.

According to Oleg Nikolenko, the power of the Russian Federation mobilizes convicted Africans to conduct the invading war against Ukraine. A similar policy has led to the death of a 23-year-old Zambia citizen Lemmekhany Nyrenda. "We urge the African Union and all African states to demand that Russia stop forcibly recruiting citizens. Africans should not die for Putin's sick imperial ambitions," the Foreign Ministry spokesman writes.

The student who was killed in Ukraine arrived in Moscow to receive education in nuclear engineering. An African student got to Russian prison for the spread of narcotic substances. He served his sentence since April 2020 at the place of imprisonment on the outskirts of Moscow. The Foreign Minister of Zambia Stanley Kakububa noted that the Kremlin reported the death of their citizen in September.

The Zambia authorities turned to the Russian Federation for details of the incident, but there was no answer from the Russian side. The father of Lemekhani Nierderands stated that he did not know how his son got into the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. Experts associate the set of prisoners in private military companies of the Russian Federation to the front to Ukraine with irreparable losses of the Russian side in the war.

According to Ukrainian intelligence, the Kremlin does not matter the article by which a person is convicted, even if it is a serious crime. Recall that the mobilization proclaimed by Vladimir Putin has caused tension in Russian society. In addition, the uneven distribution of stories between the regions has caused indignation among the national minorities of the Russian Federation.
