Spring call: the Russian Federation systematically increases the limit of the personnel of its army - the media

According to the deputy chief of the General Staff of the Russian Federation, the conscripts of spring conscription will not be sent for participation in "special operations". However, journalists noted that there are information on plans to mobilize 300,000 people to send to Ukraine. In Russia, a spring conscription began, within which about 150,000 men aged 18 to 30 years will be held annual military service.

In this regard, the Polish Defense 24 observers, having analyzed information from open sources, noted the systematic increase in the marginal number of personnel of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. In particular, the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin was celebrated from March 31, according to which 150,000 people should enter the Russian army from April 1 to July 15.

The document also orders demobilization of soldiers, sailors, sergeants and officers, the term of military service on the call. Earlier, the upper age bar was 27 years, and this year it rose to 30 years. The limits of conscript age in Russia were changed in 2023 at the proposal of the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Sergey Shoig.

Within the military reform, the State Duma also legalized electronic summons and banned "citizens who are conscription", departure from the country from the moment of receiving the summons to the military enlistment office. Thus, the total number of personnel of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation will increase to 1. 32 million servicemen, the observers said.

According to the deputy chief of the General Directorate of the General Staff Vladimir Tsyliansky, the recruits of spring conscription will not be sent for participation in "special operations" or at the points of deployment in the occupied parts of Donetsk, Lugansk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhya regions. Meanwhile, observers say that after 12 months of military service, some soldiers prefer to sign military contracts, including financial reasons.

The minimum monthly salary of the Russian contractor is currently 195,000 rubles ($ 2115), which is three times higher than the average salary in Russia. According to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, more than 100 thousand people have joined the armed forces of the Russian Federation since the beginning of 2024. In the last 10 days, 16,000 Russians signed contracts.

"Financial incentives and conscription in the army of prisoners have led to the fact that Russia has so far decided not to carry out another wave of mobilization," the publication reads. However, on March 22, the Russian Portal "Verka" reported plans for mobilization of 300,000 people. Additional forces will be used for the offensive to capture Kharkiv, but the Russian authorities denies such plans.
