The Minister of Defense Rustem Umerov signed the relevant orders. It is noted that Western machines have effectively proven themselves in battles. "The fact that the Ministry is adopting these tanks, we declare in the long run the intention to have modern and high -tech weapons," the Defense Ministry emphasized.

In addition, the department stated that 1A5, 2A5 and 2A6 were intended for the breakthrough of fortified positions of Russian troops, the destruction of fire points, equipment, the living force of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and the rapid organization of defense borders. We will add that Leopard 2A5 in the Ukrainian army is represented by a Swedish modernization of a machine called Stridsvagn 122.
