South Korea considers the possibility of supplying offensive weapons to Ukraine

According to journalists, such statements indicate a deviation from the position previously followed by the management of South Korea: to supply Ukraine only humanitarian aid. A possible response to the provision of the North Korean military Russian army by Seoul may be the supply of Kiev weapons for defense and attack. About it writes the South Korean edition of Yonhap with reference to high -ranking officials of the country.

Journalists point out that such applications indicate a deviation from the position previously followed by the South Korean leadership: Ukraine was supplied only by humanitarian aid. In June, Seul's leadership declared the possibility of military support of Ukraine after the DPRK and the Russian Federation signed a bilateral agreement.

After the publication of the South Korean intelligence of NIS reports that more than a thousand soldiers of the special units of the DPRK were transmitted at the disposal of the Russian army, Seoul called for immediate withdrawal of North Korean troops from Ukraine. "If the illegal cooperation of North Korea and Russia continues, [South Korea] will not stay away, but will resolutely respond with the international community,"-said journalists of the word advisor to national defense Kim Tae-HYO.

South Korea on Tuesday, October 22, promised to take "step -by -step measures" on the DPRK and the Russian Federation through the expansion of the military cooperation of the two countries. The National Security Council convened a meeting to evaluate the situation after the National Intelligence Service reported that the DPRK decided to send about 12,000 soldiers to assist the Russian Federation.

The Council's representatives stated that this development poses "a significant threat to the safety of" South Korea and the international community, and that it is a "flashy violation" of UN Council Resolutions, which prohibits military cooperation with North Korea. Recall that, according to analysts, Kremlin representatives fear Seoul's reactions to sending soldiers from the DPRK.
