The worst of Belarusians and Russians: how Ukrainians treat other peoples - a survey
According to the study, Ukrainians are best attributed to Ukrainian -speaking Ukrainians, Poles and Russian -speaking Ukrainians. It is noted that most of the respondents do not mind to allow members of family or friends. Also a low level of ethnic prejudice in Ukrainians to Canadians, Americans, Germans, French and Jews living in Ukraine. Meanwhile, the worst attitude of Ukrainians to Russians and Belarusians who live in their country and Russians living in Ukraine.
Most of the respondents, namely 80%, said they would not allow Russians even as tourists. Comparing with last year, Ukrainians have changed the attitude towards the inhabitants of the countries who are allies of Ukraine, namely: Canadians, Americans, Germans and French. It is noted that according to the study, the attitude towards the Poles has not changed, but the survey was conducted to blocking the border with Polish strikers.
For a long time, Ukrainians were best treated with Russians and Belarus, even after 2013. However, the situation changed dramatically after Russia in February 2022. Now Ukrainians are the worst of these ethnic groups. In particular, the social distance to the Russians is the highest in 29 years of observations. The residents of Belarus are somewhat lower, but 23% of Ukrainians surveyed said they were ready to see them only as tourists, and 46% would not be allowed to Ukraine.
After 2013, the attitude towards the Jews improved, but the Ukrainians began to treat Americans and Canadians even better. Last year, sociologists conducted a survey and evaluated the level of welfare in families of Ukrainians. It was noted that more than 28% of respondents estimated the condition of the family as bad enough. However, more than half of the respondents said that their well -being is "not bad or good.
