In the Russian Federation created the first system of satellite communication with drones: what is threatening Ukraine

To spread: in Russia, a satellite communication system is being tested for unmanned aerial vehicles to increase their range. This was reported to the Russian TASS agency at the design bureau "Intellectual devices" ("Intep"), which developed it. The system operates in KU-range of frequencies, but you can make an option for the C-band.

The design combines a highly efficient parabolic antenna with a diameter of 35 cm with an irradiator, a transition, a control module, a positioning module and an intellectual tracking system in one antenna. It will help the drone in motion to maintain a remote connection with the satellites in geostationary orbit. The antenna rotates at a speed of up to 200 degrees per second. According to designers, this will provide a stable connection for fast aircraft and small vessels.

The operator will be able to quickly change the parameters of communication channels at the software level to change the parameters of molded communication channels. The router built into the system, combined with its own IP architecture and the mechanism of optimization of the structure and volume of transmitted network data, ensure easy integration of the formed communication channels into any data network. It is the first system of this kind in Russia, it is designed for middle -class drones.

According to CB CEO Alexander Kondrashin, satellite communication should work with mobile small -sized stations with a truncated aperture weighing less than 8 kg, effectively using frequencies due to code seals. The new system should operate at the area of coating of spacecraft in geostationary orbit and promising in high elliptical orbit, in particular in high latitudes.

The developers assure that this will help to use it in the marine waters of the Black and Caspian seas, as well as in the Far East. In the media commentary, unmanned aviation expert Denis Fedutinov suggested that the use of satellite communication systems will open up new opportunities for Russian drones, as it will greatly expand their action.

According to Fedutinov, after the introduction of systems, the Russians will be able to control drones outside the action of radio channels operating in the direct visibility area, as well as outside other sources of signal relay - for example, other drones or cellular network infrastructure. "I note that for such unmanned satellite devices, Russian developers have been implemented for the first time," the expert stated.

Theoretically, a new satellite communication system can be used to wage war in Ukraine. For example, the Russian army has already launched Shahaned shock drones with Starlink terminals on board. As the Ukrainian developer Igor Krynichko explained, satellite Internet makes it possible to transmit any information, including video, while such a connection is very difficult to suppress.
