According to Ukrainian special services, a 16-year-old student from the Kirovograd region, a 19-year-old boy and two residents of Vinnytsia region were prepared. They had to undermine a homemade explosive device at the entrance to the building of the Defense Forces Unit of Ukraine. All the persons involved acted separately from each other, but had a common curator from Russia.
The explosives were hidden in a tactical backpack, it had to be delivered by a minor agent, dressed in the military uniform. As the investigation established, this terrorist attack Russian special services wanted to shake the socio-political situation in Ukraine and create the visibility of the conflict within the defense forces, when one military is undermining the other allegedly in protest. All four defendants acted separately from each other, but had a common curator from Russia.
The tools for committing the crime according to the instructions of the curators were made by two residents of Vinnytsia region and left it in a predetermined place. Another member of the group ensured the movement of explosives between the Crones, added the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.
Arriving to the Kyiv region, the young man settled at the hotel near the conditioned place of crime and acted according to the instructions in the Telegram messenger from the Russian representative. He took away the left in the designated backpack with a homemade explosive device and the military form of the Ukrainian sample. Investigators of the SBU were informed by the persons suspected of two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine: Part 2 of Art.
111 (State betrayal in the conditions of martial law) and Part 2 of Art. 263 (illegal handling of weapons, ammunition or explosives). All four are detained without the right to make bail, they are threatened with life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
