Russia has increased the production of ammunition, but there is a nuance - Budanov
This was stated by the Head of the Main Directorate of Intelligence (GUR) of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Lieutenant General Kirill Budanov, as the press service of the department reported on January 12. "If compared to previous years, since the end of the summer of 2023, we see an increase in the number of ammunition made by Russia. It is not about the shells purchased abroad, but about their industry," he said.
At the same time, the intelligence manager noted that the quality of Russian ammunition decreased. "Everyone thought that Moscow had a strong army, but a weak economy. It turned out that on the contrary," Budanov explained. According to him, the Russian army was weak. However, despite the full -scale war, the country of aggressor "does not starve". Lieutenant General suggested that at such a pace the enemy could last for a long time. "The current Western sanctions are not enough.
They would have to affect the main sectors of the Russian economy, which still remained aside: energy, metallurgy and financial system as a whole," - said GUR Chief. He added that Ukraine also needs more shells and artillery systems. "It's not just about modern technologies. We are interested in everything, including old systems that are not already used. Quantity is important," said Budanov. We will remind, the head of GUR Kirill Budanov informed that Russia wanted to declare 2023 "victorious".
