Buried Project: The Russian Federation refused to repair the damaged "Nord Stream" - the media
The publication writes that in the Russian "Gazprom", which built 4 Nord Stream threads, it was stated that it is technically possible to repair damaged pipelines, but Moscow does not show prospects for improving relations with the West, and therefore is not planned to operate pipelines. Moreover, as one of the sources told reporters, Russia has already called the project "buried".
Other sources noted that although there are no repair plans, the Nord Streams will be saved for possible restoration of work in the future. Journalists suggested that the pipelines will be seized, and they would also apply a special coating to prevent corrosion under the influence of seawater.
The publication writes that, in the opinion of one of the surveyed experts, if natural gas delivered by the sea from the United States will become more expensive, then Europe may think again about the restoration of "northern flows". According to a representative of the German company E. on, which is one of the shareholders of "Nord Streams", there has not yet been a decision to restore the pipelines. Other shareholders did not answer journalists' questions.
We will remind that on September 26, 2022, an extraordinary event occurred at the Russian gas pipeline "Nord Stream-2"-a sharp jump in pressure was recorded at the object. After that, it became known that the pressure fell in both threads of another object - the "northern stream". Then German experts stated that if a lot of seawater gets into the pipes, it will provoke corrosion. In this case, gas pipelines can no longer be used.
The UK Ministry of Defense, which Russia itself could blow up the Nord Stream with the help of an underwater drone. According to the source in the military department, the Russians could deliver explosives to gas pipelines a few months ago to undermine it at the right time. NATO stated that Avaaria at the Nord Stream Pipeline happened due to deliberate sabotage. Stoltenberg promised that the attack on the infrastructure of the Allies would be determined by a decisive answer.
