Putin in the blood and a slow shot: the main theme of the carnival in Germany was the war in Ukraine (photo)
Carnival moves take place in all major cities, but the most political one is considered a parade in Dusseldorf. It was there that the residents carried a doll in the form of Vladimir Putin in the bath, where he bathes in the blood. Moreover, the bath is made in the colors of the Ukrainian national flag. Also, the Russian leader appeared in the image of a vampire that passes the world through a meat grinder. Another figure depicted it during a kiss with the devil.
Immediately ridiculed the striking position of the German armed forces: their symbol became a tank on bicycle wheels. One of the dolls in the course was also dedicated to Chancellor Olaf Scholtz and his leisurely policy on military assistance to Ukraine. The war in Ukraine has not become the only international theme of this year's carnival. The participants also mentioned protests in Iran. The political satire was also aimed at the Minister of Economy Robert Habek.
He was portrayed as swallowing frogs that embody with nuclear power plants. The official delayed the closure of three NPPs in the country, thus becoming the object of criticism of local ecologists and activists. Rosenmontag ("Pink Monday") is a traditional end of the carnival season, which begins in Germany on November 11. The carnival this year took place for the first time in three years-in the past seasons it was missed through the Covid-19 pandemic.
