In the Russian Federation, they are talking about dividing the energy system of Ukraine into banks: the expert answered whether it is possible
He explained that it is not easy to implement, even by striking energy facilities. The Russian Armed Forces have been attacking the Dnipro since the beginning of the full-scale war, and Koivy Rih, Chernihiv and Sumy regions are also currently under attack.
"That is, you can't say that it somehow just appeared now (…) That's why it has the right to exist, such an opinion, but its implementation is very difficult and, let's say, entails, I don't think that only rocket methods can be used, there are dozens, hundreds, thousands of drones," Korolchuk explained. He admitted that there will be and already is damage, after which repair work begins. The enemy is draining the Ukrainian energy system, and its resources are diminishing.
This weakens the possibility of passing the heating season, and the work of industry is forced to be limited in order to reduce the consumption of light and gas. However, the expert does not agree with the opinion that Russia seeks to divide the energy system into left and right banks. According to him, it is likely that the eastern and southern parts, as well as the central and western parts of the country can "remain separately".
In general, according to Korolchuk's assessment, greater risks in the winter period will be for those regions where blackouts are already in use. "First of all, the winter period is difficult. With larger outages, with greater restrictions, with long-term, possibly, electricity restrictions. That is, where there may not be electricity for a day, two or three days. I repeat all this, of course, in the conditions of winter, the winter period," he emphasized.
The expert reminded that for a number of regions, in particular Kharkiv and Odesa, long blackouts are not something new. The lack of light creates inconvenience and disrupts the work schedule, but the locals have successfully passed the winters, which are relatively warm. However, this winter may be less comfortable in terms of temperature, and this is superimposed on the forecast for the light situation.
