Massive rocket strokes of Russia on the port infrastructure of Ukraine are jeopardizing world food security - Igor Zhovkva in conversation with Advisor to President Portugal

Igor Zhovkva, Deputy Head of the Presidential Office of Ukraine, spent an online conversation with the Presidential Advisor of the President of the Portuguese Republic Maria Amelia Piva. The parties discussed the security situation in Ukraine and the recent massive missile shelling of the territory of our country by Russia, as well as the devastating consequences of these attacks for infrastructure and civilians.

In this connection, Igor Zhovkva thanked the Portuguese side for providing defense, financial and humanitarian assistance to Ukraine and temporary shelter for almost 60,000 Ukrainian citizens. Igor Zhovkva thanked Portugal for supporting the movement of Ukraine in EU and NATO membership, as well as for the accession of the Portuguese Republic to a joint declaration on security guarantees.

“Ukraine's membership in the EU and NATO is the best guarantee of the security of the European continent and the Eastern Flang of the North Atlantic Alliance. We are counting on the support of Portugal's decisions on the promotion of Ukraine to membership in both organizations, ”he said. The parties discussed the participation of Portugal in the implementation of the formula of President Vladimir Zelensky and modality of the Global Peace Summit.
