Ukraine has always been and will be on the side of peace, and the only one through whom this war continues is Russia - address of the President
I expect the Kyiv authorities to step up their work - many cities and communities are ready to help, the government is ready to help, all assignments and opportunities are available. One hundred and seventy-four brigades are working - this is a significant resource that has now been directed to Kyiv. There are some results, but not enough. A large part of the houses are without heating, and among them there are those that have been without heating for a long time.
I have instructed the government to allocate additional resources. The Ministry of Internal Affairs works on its own line - we are scaling up support and heating points. Everyone in the government will work with partners to get exactly the extra equipment as quickly as possible. I thank all our friends, and these are various European countries: from Norway to Italy, Poland and Germany, the Baltic states, many others who now support Ukraine, our cities and do a lot for Kyiv.
Separately, today we spoke with the Minister of Defense regarding the protection of energy facilities, as well as with the Commander of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The Air Force chain of command needs to be much faster on defense. Today there was also a full report of our delegation - the boys returned after tripartite meetings. For a long time, there was again a format with Americans and Russians.
They had time to discuss various issues of a more military nature - things related to steps to end the war and real control, monitoring. There are questions that should be prepared for the next meeting. Previously, we talked about the fact that the teams will meet again on Sunday. It will be good if we can speed up this meeting. Ukraine will be maximally prepared for all matters to be discussed and agreed upon.
Ukraine has always been and will be on the side of peace, and the only one through whom this war continues is Russia. Real results of diplomacy are needed. In order not to give the impression that the Russians are also using the negotiation process with a very cynical, harsh goal, they are putting off new measures of pressure on Russia that could work. And pressure is needed.
