The Czech Republic no longer issues a visa and a residence permit to the Russians and Belarusians: what is known

Applications for a residence permit in the Czech Republic, which have already been sent to the Embassy by citizens of Russia or Belarus, are considered unacceptable. The Czech Republic will no longer issue visas and residences of residence to citizens of Russia and Belarus due to invasion of Ukraine. This was stated by Prime Minister Petro Fila, Ceske Noviny.

At the same time, according to the official, it is necessary to create conditions for opposition representatives or students who do not want to have anything to do with the appropriate regimes, can continue to study, work and operate in the Czech Republic. "The rules provide a number of exceptions, but we will continue to work on it," the Czech Prime Minister added.

Applications for residence permit in the Czech Republic, filed by Russians or Belarusians in the embassy, ​​are considered unacceptable. This means that they are not subject to any consideration. Since 2023, the ban also extends to citizens who, in addition to citizenship of the Russian Federation and Belarus, are also citizens of another state. At the same time, foreigners who already have a residence permit are not a targeted decision.

The provision does not apply to the application for short -term visas if the applicant is a member of the Czech citizen or the EU citizen, whom he accompanies or follows him. In addition, the decision does not apply to the application for a visa, long -term or permanent residence permit if the applicant's stay is in line with the interests of the Czech Republic and these interests are certified by the Minister of Foreign Affairs.

The resolution does not apply to the application for long -term residence permit if the applicant is a member of a foreigner family who has a residence permit in the Czech Republic. The prohibition also excludes Belarusians who apply for a residence permit for study at the university on the basis of scholarships provided by the Czech Republic, the European Union or international organizations.
