Speculation around "dagger": experts have revealed new facts about Russian rocket (photo)

To spread: A lot of rumors and speculations have accumulated around the Russian rocket "Dagel" (9-7760 index). It is often argued that the name "dagger" applies not to the rocket, but the complex in general, but the widespread index X-47M2 is the result of a journalistic mistake. However, this name is entrenched in public space. Militarian observers published a volume material that was understood in the origin of the Russian hypersonic rocket, and gave some additional weapons.

Air ballistic missiles are not a fundamentally new weapon. Back in the USSR there was a rocket X-15, adopted in the 1980s. It could develop up to 5 strokes and was used to break the air defense and destroy the stationary goals. However, the limited weight of the battle part (150 kg) and the outdation of the structure led to its write-off until the early 2000s. Russia returned to the development of a modern air start rocket after the collapse of the Union.

The basis for the "dagger" was the ballistic missile of the Iskander complex (9M723), adapted to launch from the fighter-interceptors of the MiG-31K and MiG-31I. The first flight carrier with the rocket took place in 2016, and in 2018 the Russian authorities officially introduced the complex "dagger". According to open data, the rocket has a length of about 8 meters, a diameter of 1 meter and a weight of about 4300 kg.

It is equipped with a solid fuel two -mode engine and a combat part of up to 480 kg (a nuclear version is possible). Management is carried out by an inertial system with satellite navigation correction and active radar head at the final flight area. Russia states that the "dagger" reaches speed of up to 10 strokes and has a high maneuverability, which complicates its interception.

However, in the final phase of the rocket, the rocket slows down to 3 sides, where it was successfully intercepted by Patriot complexes. In addition, Russian sources say that the rocket building has a small radar visibility, but in public photographs, "Steles Cover" has not been noticed. The stated range of "dagger" is up to 2000 km, but experts say that this figure includes the radius of the aircraft. The real range is estimated at 1000-1500 km. MiG-31-MiG-31K and MiG-31I can be used as carriers.

The observers drew attention to one detail-in 2018 it was stated that these missiles would be integrated in the TU-22M3, but no information about these works was more publicly available. "As we can see, in general, this scheme of launch and flight repeats the scheme used on the X-15C missiles, corrected to modern electronics and a more solid fuel engine,"-emphasized in the Militar.

Since 2018, rockets have been repeatedly applied against Ukraine, in particular on civil infrastructure facilities, recalled on the portal. According to Ukrainian intelligence, by mid -2025 Russia is able to produce up to 15 dagger missiles on a monthly basis. Despite the propaganda exaggeration of their capabilities and the controversial status of "hypersonic weapons", the rocket remains a serious threat to the Ukrainian rear.
