The leader of the parliamentary faction of the Right French Party "National Association" Marin Le Pen said that by attacked Ukraine, the Russian Federation provoked war on the threshold of the European Union and the "most dramatic" geopolitical crisis over the last 20 years. She wrote about it in her account in X (former Twitter).

"Involved in Ukraine on February 24, 2022, Russia provoked a war on the threshold of the EU and the geopolitical crisis, which is undoubtedly the most dramatic in the last twenty years," the statement said. In addition, the deputy declared the obligation to express support for the Ukrainian people who were attacked by the Russians. "We are obliged to express our respect and our support," Marin Le Pen emphasized.

The leadership of the French extreme right (the second largest parties in parliament) is considered a pro -Russian deputy for repeated support for the annexation of Crimea and narratives of the Kremlin. For example, on May 24, 2023, Marin Le Pen stated that she considers the temporarily occupied peninsula a legitimate part of Russia. At the same time, the deputy claimed that Crimea was Russian for two centuries, and Ukrainian for 60 years, donated by a dictator from Zabozhanka.

It should be noted that in 2017, during her election campaign, Marin Le Pen openly declared her friendship with Russian President Vladimir Putin. "If you say that Russia is a military danger to other European countries, I think you are wrong in analyzing the situation," she said in February in an interview for CNN. In the same interview, Le Pen supported the annexation of Crimea. Already in March 2017, the Kremlin leader personally met the head of the French Right Party in Moscow.

The journalists were able to find out that in 2014 Marin Le Pen received a large loan of nine million euros at the first Czech-Russian Bank. In mid -April 2022, French presidential candidate Marin Le Pen refused to recognize the occupation of Crimea by Russia and stated that Europe should prevent the military confluence of the Russian Federation and China.
