Officially: Britain has lifted sanctions from Russian oligarch Tinkov

Russian businessman Oleg Tinkov came under British sanctions a month after the start of a full -scale invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine. On July 20, the United Kingdom abolished personal sanctions imposed on the Russian businessman and founder of Tinkoff Bank Oleg Tinkova, reports the Britain's government. According to the document of the British government, sanctions that provide for freezing of assets, the ban on the provision of trust services and entry to the country are lined.

"This entry was excluded from the consolidated list, and more sanctions are subject to the arrest of assets and the ban on the provision of trust services: Oleg Tinkov (ID 15041)," - reads in the note. The reason for the withdrawal of sanctions in the document is not specified. Sanctions against Oleg Tinkov were imposed in March 2022, shortly after the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Tinkov appealed to the British Foreign Ministry for the removal of sanctions.

The British billionaire and Virgin Group founder Richard Branson and Russian politician Mikhail Khodorkovsky also appealed to the government in London.
