Armed Forces Servicemen may compensate for housing lease costs: what are the conditions

To extend: compensation for a housing compensation is provided for servicemen of officer, ordinary, sergeant and sergeant staff, as well as cadets of military educational institutions with families. Servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other formations of defense forces have the right to receive monetary compensation for hiring housing in the absence of their own housing at the place of service.

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine approved new amounts of compensation for 2025 and explained the procedure for their appointment. According to the decision of the Minister of Defense of Ukraine dated January 23, 2025 No. 2640/s, the amount of compensation for housing is set as follows: for servicemen who have three or more family members, the amount of compensation is increased by 1. 5 times: compensation for the housing is given to such categories.

Payment is made on one of the grounds for his choice. For the purpose of compensation, the serviceman must submit a report to the commander of the military unit with the addition of the following documents: at the same time, the Ministry of Defense noted that during the resolution of the issue of compensation, data on real estate is checked and verified with the State Register of Real Estate Rights. Then the serviceman and his family members are checked.
