Northern Macedonia handed over to the Ukrainian Army the Su-25 aircraft-the media
At the same time, the department emphasized that the decisions made do not reduce the combat capability of the army. The newspaper reminds that the Ministry of Defense also responded to the emergence of information that Northern Macedonia had transmitted the Soviet model tanks to Ukraine. The department had to confirm this fact after the photos of tanks loaded on the tractors were published, as well as videos that show the transportation of equipment.
"These are tanks that are part of the Land Troops Tank Battalion, which is planned to be disbanded. It is a third -generation tanks that will become uncompetitive and incompatible with our requests from the west with the development of technology in a few years," the Ministry of Defense said on July 28. Journalists say that in June, the left party, citing unnamed officers, announced that Su-25 planes were checked and repaired at the military airfield.
"According to the information received, the repairs are carried out by Ukrainian military engineers, which indicates that it is done for their delivery to Ukraine as a gift on our part," - said party representatives who were very indignant. In June 2001, Macedonia bought four Su-25 battle aircraft in Ukraine: three single and one double. The amount of the operation amounted to 4 million euros, journalists say.
Then the need for this purchase was explained by the need to suppress the military conflict that arose in the country after the armed speech of Albanian separatists. As a result of the conflict, the planes have been used several times to support the Macedonian infantry. Two years after the peace agreement was signed in August 2001, the Ministry of Defense of Macedonia announced that the Armed Forces no longer needed these aircraft. In 2004, they were preserved and started looking for buyers.
We will remind, on July 29 the Ministry of Defense of Northern Macedonia announced the transfer of tanks T-72 to Ukraine. How many cars were sent to Ukrainians, did not specify, but it is known that 31 T-72 tank was armed with the Macedonian army. Commenting on the transfer of technology, the president of Northern Macedonia Stevo Pedarovsky accused Russia of interfering with the country's internal affairs.
