In Poland, the first volunteers from the Ukrainian Legion have signed contracts with the Armed Forces: how many applications were submitted

After signing the contracts with the Armed Forces of the Ukrainian Legion, the Armed Forces will be sent to one of the landfills near Lublin for training. Training will be conducted by instructors from NATO countries. In the Polish city of Lublin, on the basis of the recruiting center at the Consulate General of Ukraine, the first group of volunteers of "Ukrainian Legion" officially concluded contracts with the Armed Forces of Ukraine. About it reports Ukrinform, on Tuesday, November 12.

The head of the recruiting center invited each volunteer in turn to sign the contract they got acquainted in advance. According to the representative of the Center Peter Gorkush, more than 600 people have been submitted to the Ukrainian Legion today. This volunteer unit of the Armed Forces was established within the security agreement, which was signed in July by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the Prime Minister of Polish Donald Tusk in Warsaw.

One of the key points of this Agreement is the organization of preparation of Ukrainian military units in Poland. After signing the contracts of volunteers, they will be sent to a landfill near Lublin to undergo basic NATO standards. The training course will last 35 days under the guidance of instructors from the Alliance Member States. For those who will require additional specialization training, further training in other places is provided.

Volunteers have the opportunity to sign a contract for three years or before the end of a special period. By agreement of the parties, Ukraine provides participants in the Legion with military form and medicines, while Poland provides infrastructure, equipment and weapons for training. The issue of full equipment of the unit with Polish equipment and weapons for its further business trip to Ukraine is still under discussion.
