Premiere of the movie "STTL". Hasidims, Communists, Nazis: A vivid story of love on the eve of a military invasion
Why did she like the audience? First, it is a vivid story of a love triangle in the ironic style of Sholoma Aleichem. Secondly, it used a unique technology of one frame for the first time in Ukraine. The plot was outlined in the release. The time of action is one day: June 21, 1941. In the Jewish border town (Stetley), the wedding of the Son of Meat and daughter Rabbi is underway in Lviv region.
But the bride of the young man loves another - Mendel - a filmman who comes to the town the day before and . . . plans to abduct a girlfriend. At the same time, the Nazi squadron of death is approaching the tart. What was expected from release? What will be conditionally shown the peaceful life of the Jewish town, which will be defeated by German executioners.
Everything turned out to be different: the emphasis was not on the defeat, but on the life of the stalet, which is depicted in such a Jewish universe in miniature. Young cinema-starter Mendel (Moshe Lobel) is declared home in the morning. He was not two years old - he studied for a cinema in Kiev and dreams of the name of the famous Jewish, Soviet director - Mark Don (1901-1981), whom he personally knows.
In the absence of Mendel, his bride (Anaisia Stasevich) gathered to marry the other - Orthodox Foli. More precisely, she was pushed to this by his relatives. Mendel is "advanced", he took "red" changes, but does not give up his Jewish roots, trying to find an acceptable balance between all of this. He clearly knows that the war with the Germans will happen sooner or later, but now his task is to solve the question with the young and talk to his father.
This movie is delayed for several reasons. The debuttor Adi Walter wrote a wonderful script, clearly imitating the spirit and style of the Jewish classic-Sholom Aleichem (1859–1916): there will be many dialogues, disputes imbued with religious allusions and irony. Only the style of stories about Tevye-Dangerian was moved forward-years for thirty-forty, in 1941. Mendel himself is a character that combines the irony and wisdom of Tevier-dairy and rebellious qualities All the same Sholem Aleichem.
Blue -eyed brunette - a catalyst: wherever he appears in the tetula - there immediately the movement begins: someone welcomes him, someone he annoys him, and someone hates him - as a foul, seeing in him a competitor in the hand and heart of Yuna's hand. Adi Walter skillfully conveyed this nervous fermentation among Jews on the eve of total changes. The film uses a unique technology of one frame. One frame here is removed for a very long time.
The film operator Vladimir Ivanov said that all of them here-35-for the whole two-hour picture. And, practically, you do not see the skley. It gives a special nerve of the picture and deep immersion in the film. The ribbon came out "Medelecentric", you seem to see everything with the eyes of the protagonist - someone is welcome with him, and as if you are pressing your hand.
He sat in the synagogue on the bench and went "viewing", crossing the views of the villagers, whispering - the viewer is a direct witness to all these smallest details. And then attention returns to the main "rest violent" again. Although the Hasidic order in the town (the Soviet occupation of Western Ukraine happened two years ago) still strong, everyone understands that they will not last long - there will be a radical restructuring of life and outlook.
Adi Walter deliberately removed the letters "e" from the word "pants", wishing to emphasize "the void that the tape characters will face. " This void is a lull in front of the storm. After all, the film also takes place against the backdrop of the threat of a German-fascist invasion. However, the main passions in the ribbon will still spin around the love triangle Mendel-Yun-Feli. And there will be many lyrical and funny scenes. The point, of course, will come to the fight.
And historically, this love story is similar to the novel by Mark Sagal and his bride, the beauty of Bella, who was waiting for the artist in Vitebsk while he conquered Paris. And all this is very deeply perceived by the technology of one frame: the effect of presence is stunning - as if you are - an avid and desperate guy Mendel, who is in vain to find a point of intersection between the new and the old and dreams of shooting movies about transformations of people in the era of change.
