"Media Proctorate": The Coordination Staff commented on the involvement of the Armed Forces in the war by Russia

According to Petr Yatsenko, Russia could have been recruited by some Ukrainian war, but it is not about the amount of the whole battalion. Information that Russia will send a unit with Ukrainian prisoners of war to the front is an attempt to propaganda. Petro Yatsenko, a representative of the coordination headquarters on the management of prisoners of war, told about it in an interview with public.

According to him, international humanitarian law prohibits the involvement of captives of the military in the war. Russia was able to recruit some people, but it is not about the number of a whole battalion. Yatsenko says that the military understands the consequences and a small number agrees to go to such conditions. In addition, no one wants to fight against their own. It was said that only military people who live in Russia may seem to such a unit.

"This is pure propaganda, it is a purely media project, and we have to understand that no benefit on the front from such a compound, how much, there are no people," - said a representative of the coordination headquarters on the management of prisoners of war. Petro Yatsenko notes that this topic is not rising for the first time, and during a period when the Russian army cannot succeed at the front. That is why Russia tries to ride, as if they were going out.

In particular, it is the answer to the formation of volunteer battalions in Ukraine from Russian citizens. At the end of October, the Institute for War Study (ISW) reported that Russia had formed a "volunteer" battalion "by Bohdan Khmelnitsky" with about 70 prisoners of war. It was noted that after the preparation, the unit would fight against Ukraine on an uncertain area of the front.

In early November, in ISW, referring to the Russian media, they stated that the battalion was ready to participate in the battles and swore allegiance to the Russian Federation. Meanwhile, GUR believes that the Ukrainian military in captivity is pressured, and statements about the creation of such a battalion are a more information and psychological operation.

Nevertheless, Ukrainian prisoners of war, if they get to the front, will be able to seek help as part of the "I want to live" and return to Ukraine. We will remind, on October 20 the Executive Director of the Ukrainian Helsinki Human Rights Alexander Pavlichenko stated that about 90% of Ukrainian soldiers who were in captivity were ill -treatment and torture from the Russian Federation.
