Without clarification of the reasons: Latvia forbidden the extradition of any visas to the Russians

Only those Russians who want to take part in the funeral of a close relative will be able to apply visas in Latvia. Latvia's authorities have made a decision to suspend the visa registration of any kind of Russian citizens. This was announced on Friday, August 5, by the Latvian Embassy press service at the Russian Federation on its Twitter. Diplomats reported that receiving applications for visas for Russian citizens were suspended indefinitely.

The only exception to the new rule would be to issue visas to the Russians who plan to get to Latvia to participate in the funeral of a close relative. The Latvian Embassy did not indicate the reason for such a decision. We will remind, at the end of July we reported that the authorities of Estonia intend to achieve a ban on issuing visas for Russians to Europe and plans to send appropriate proposals to the EU leadership.

Estonia Minister of Estonia Rainsal then noted that while the Russians went to Europe through Finland and Baltic in the summer, civilians, including children, are killed in the territory of Ukraine from the actions of Russian troops. On March 10, the Estonian government announced the termination of visas for Russian citizens indefinitely on its part by the Russian authorities to take measures in response if in Finland stopped issuing tourist visas to citizens of the Russian Federation.
