The first group of eight Ukrainian pilots, which will be taught at American F-16 fighters, has already been identified. This was reported by the American edition of Politico, citing high -ranking US military and officials.

This group from Ukraine is fluent in English and is ready to learn as soon as the preparation plan is officially approved in the United States. The exact timing of training is kept secret. The US representative said that 20 pilots who are a little English are ready to start language courses in the United Kingdom in August. In total, 32 Ukrainian pilots should be selected for potential training.

This amount will be enough for two squadron, but knowledge of English remains a problem, the interlocutors noted. "F-16 is intended for the long-term protection of Ukraine to force Russia to think twice before increasing the invasion. Ukrainian officials promised that they would not use the F-16 for flights over Russia and bombing of goals," the newspaper writes. Politico added that a coalition from 11 NATO countries will help Ukrainians learn to manage US F-16 fighter jets.
