"Receive Ukrainian payments": in the Russian Federation they want to check Ukrainians with Russian passports

According to Russia, even after a statement of citizenship, people can receive Ukrainian pensions and payments, since the management of Ukraine does not recognize the procedure of unilateral refusal of citizenship. The Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs plans to obtain inspections for those who have refused the passport of Ukraine, but still enjoy the rights of Ukrainian citizens.

The corresponding draft of the Presidential Decree appeared on the website of draft normative legal acts of the Russian Federation. The legislative initiative, which is discussed, should supplement the law that simplifies the exit from Ukrainian citizenship for citizens. According to the Russian legislation, the rejection of the Ukrainian passport does not require additional confirmation by representatives of the authorities of Ukraine.

It is necessary to fill in a special form and refuse to take actions concerning the rights and responsibilities of Ukrainian citizens. Changing in the legislation will allow the Russian police to carry out inspections for persons who have completed this form. If there is a violation of this obligation not to take the actions involved in the citizenship of Ukraine, such cases will notify the FSB.

According to the Russian media, the Presidential Decree also applies to residents of the occupied territories of Ukraine. Experts, interviewed by journalists, explain the emergence of the above initiative by the fact that even after a statement of citizenship, people can receive Ukrainian pensions and payments, ie. The management of Ukraine does not recognize such a procedure of unilateral abandonment of citizenship.
