EU will suspend a simplified visa regime with Russia - Siyarto

The European Union will suspend an agreement with Russia on simplified visa issuance, but a full visa prohibition will not be imposed. This was reported by Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Siyarto during a video address on social networks, Reuters reports. He reported that the simplified visa agreement would be terminated with the support of the majority. There will be no video of a general ban on issuing visas for Russian citizens, "the minister emphasized.

Siyarto added that Hungary, along with some other EU countries, opposes a ban on the issuance of visas. He also noted that Hungary has signed an agreement with the Russian Gazprom on additional gas supply since September 1. In Prague, on August 30-31, an informal meeting of the Ministers of the EU member countries was held, which discussed a ban on the issuance of visas to Europe for Russian citizens.
