Weapons vs. 1000 drones: Will the Armed Forces receive advanced complexes Skyranger 35 (video)

To extend: against the background of a sharp increase in the use of Russian long-range drones-Kamikadze, in Ukraine, more than ever, the question of the need to strengthen air defense has ever become more acute. In particular, it is the prospect of transferring Skyranger 35 to Ukraine's anti -aircraft tanks based on Leopard 1, capable of intercepting air targets at a range up to 4 kilometers.

In its material, the analysts of Defense Express write that the issue of strengthening the Ukrainian air defense remains quite relevant taking into account the forecasts of Western analysts, according to which Russia can reach up to 500-1000 drones per day. It was in this context that experts drew attention to the Skyranger 35 anti -aircraft complex. This system was first publicly presented in September 2024. It was demonstrated on the chassis of the LEOPARD 1A5BE tank purchased in Belgium.

The system of effective fire can be compared to the Gepard anti -aircraft installations, which are already used on the Ukrainian Front, but its key advantage is in automation, unmanned tower and the possibility of flexible integration into different platforms. Although the demonstration was accompanied by technical obese, Rheinmetall representatives in general presented the project as promising and mature in technological terms.

According to their statements, the installation of Skyranger 35 on Leopard 1 demonstrates the versatility of the system, as well as the readiness of the company for the potential transfer of such machines to Ukraine - in the amount of at least 10 units, provided the order is appropriate. Meanwhile, after the September presentation, there were no new public applications for Skyranger 35 supplies to Ukraine.

At the same time, Rheinmetall representatives emphasized that the possibility of transferring such systems will depend on the request of Kiev and the corresponding contracts. Thus, the ability to supply Skyranger 35 remains in the theoretical plane, but its actualization in the expert environment may indicate that Rheinmetall is ready to quickly deploy the production of these machines in the case of a political decision.

In the face of increasing drone threat, it would be a significant intensification of air defense of Ukraine. We will remind, the Skyranger 35 anti -aircraft complex has been designed to combat modern air threats, including UAVs, winged missiles and aviation.
