The German company Wintershall Dea, which is the largest gas and oil producer of Germany, is accused of supplying fuel components for Russian strategic aviation. Spiegel writes about it. The publication writes that only on January 17, 2023, the company said that it was terminating business in Russia.

It happened after the Russian rocket destroyed a dwelling house in the Dnieper. According to journalists, the rocket was likely to produce an aircraft that rising into the air with the help of fuel produced, including with the help of Wintershall. However, the company rejects all the accusations, calling them fabricated. However, according to journalists and some experts, Russian strategic bombers are also filled with kerosene, some of which were made from Wintershall gas condensate.

The material said that Wintershall began cooperation with Russian Gazprom in 2008. They produce gas condensate on the Urengoysk deposit needed for the production of kerosene. According to Wintershall representatives, only Gazprom decides what will happen with the raw material. Journalists found that Gazprom transports gas condensate to Lukoil's refinery in Perm, Tatnafta in Nizhnokamsk and Rosneft in Samara region.

In the period from June 2022 to October 2022, three refineries took more than 8,000 tons of kerosene to Schikivka, with which Russian bombers were striking in Ukraine. The publication writes that this can be traced using the data on the cargo transportation of Russian trains, partially broken by train wagons. However, Wintershall says they took some "measures" immediately after the invasion of February 24, 2022 and condemned aggression.

It is also reported that Wintershall did not leave the Russian Federation immediately after the start of the war, and therefore paid taxes in the Russian treasury worth hundreds of millions of euros. The company did not name specific numbers and only explained that the joint ventures of the group were subject to Russian tax legislation earlier, focus wrote that Turkey gave Ukraine Bayraktar drones.
