This was reported by the head of the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office Alexander Filchakov in an interview with "Observer".

"To date, prosecutors have already begun a pre -trial investigation into violation of the laws and customs of war related to the premeditated murder of four prisoners of war - servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, whom the Russian military was executed in the territory of the aggregate plant in the summer of 2024, by order of the command of 2024. Oleksandr Filchakov said. According to him, these facts are documented through cooperation with GUR MOU.

Filchakov noted that the reasons for the beginning of the investigation began to be questioned by prisoners of war, in the process of which testimony was obtained. He specified that the investigation of such crimes has its difficulties, including through hostilities. As a result, this complicates access to the scene. But this case can be unique, because a person who can be suspected is in Ukrainian captivity.

"This opens the opportunity not to use the in absentia proceedings (in absentia), but to conduct a fair trial and make a sentence with real punishment," Alexander Filchakov explained, and added that in the event of guilty of the suspect, they can be sentenced to life imprisonment.
