A successful blow to the Defense Forces of Ukraine at the Oil Refinery in Salavat in Bashkiri was confirmed by the Head of the Center for Combating Misinformation at the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Andriy Kovalenko on September 18 in his Telegram channel. He added that the Volgograd Refinery was also an attack. The head of the Republic of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov confirmed the attack of drones on Gazprom Naftohim Salaavat.

According to him, the company attacked two drones, after which a fire was rose. The dead and victims are not reported. "Passive and active protection worked, the protection of the enterprise opened fire on the defeat. The degree of damage is found out," - said the head of Bashkirria. Residents of Salaavat reported explosions about 10:43 and published smoke over the petrochemical complex "Gazprom Naftohim Salaavat".

The Russian Media Astra says that Gazprom Ohtohim Salaavat, attacked by drones, is a part of PJSC Gazprom and manages the largest in the south of Bashkortostan with an oil refining complex. Hydrocarbon raw materials pass the full processing cycle at this enterprise, the complex produces more than 150 types of products, including gasoline, diesel fuel, fuel oil, bitumen and polyethylene. In 2024, the company earned 4. 4 billion rubles of net profit.

Journalists also reminded that last year the drone attacked the industrial zone of Salavat and damaged the building of the oil complex pumping station. The local Volgograd, about 2:00 on September 18, also reported that at least 10 explosions were burning over the city. The locals reported the work of PVO on the southern part of Volgograd and bright outbreaks in the sky. During the attack in Volgograd, the airport was closed.
