On the Day of Defenders and Defenders of Ukraine, the President handed state awards and participated in the oath of oath by military lyceum

On the occasion of the Day of Defenders and Defenders of Ukraine, President Vladimir Zelensky presented high state awards to Ukrainian servicemen, honorary names, honors and combat flags to the military union, and also participated in the oath of oath by lyceums - the pupils of military lyceums. The presentation took place on the territory of the National Historical and Architectural Museum "Kyiv Fortress" in the presence of military-political leadership of the state and foreign diplomats.

“Today, on a special day, we have a special mission. Mission of gratitude. Mission of allegiance. Ceremony of delivery of state awards of Ukraine to those who distinguished themselves in its defense. And solemn oath of our military lyceum students, who still have the respect of the Ukrainian people. The respect you should earn. But what will be absolute when you get it decent, ”the head of state said.

The President noted that 585 days of full -scale Russian war and eight years of hybrid war have taken away many brave Ukrainian lives. “They all became the life of Ukraine. And we are obliged to all of them. We are obliged to guarantee the will for our country, ”he stressed. The attendees paid a moment of silence to the memory of everyone and everyone who put their lives for the sake of Ukraine.

Volodymyr Zelensky passed the Order of the Golden Star to his native lieutenant colonel Vasyl Bogach, who was awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine posthumously. Since the beginning of the full -scale invasion of the Russian Federation, the lieutenant colonel remained in Mariupol, personally participated in the destruction and capture of Russian servicemen. As a result of one of the hostile aircraft blows, he suffered numerous shrapnel wounds in the city.

He died in early May 2022 in a hospital at Azovstal after hitting a high -weight aircraft. The highest state award from the hands of the President was received by the sergeant Igor Kolesnichenko, who was awarded him posthumously. Last year in May near Novolugansky in Donetsk region, the sergeant ensured the destruction of the enemy and then brought out the personnel from the environment to a more favorable position. He died, closing his brother during a hostile shelling.

The President also presented the Order of the Golden Star to the native pilot - Hero of Ukraine Major Danylo Murashko, who from the first days of the war until January 2023 made 141 combat departments. He destroyed a lot of armored equipment, live strength and warehouses of the aggressor. His plane was lined up with a hostile fighter. Danilo Murashko tried to remove his car from residential buildings, which was why he could not safely catapult and died heroically.

The title of Hero of Ukraine was also posthumously awarded by master-stateant Maxim Strizhak, who since January 2023 with his brothers bravely held back the offensive of Russian troops in the Bakhmut area. He died on January 15 in battle with an enemy who stormed the city. The Order was also awarded the family of the deceased Hero of Ukraine - Senior Lieutenant Vladislav Skvortsov, who at the beginning of the war was distinguished during the fighting for Okhtyrka and the release of Trostyanets.

In April 2022, he organized an evacuation of the wounded in Kharkiv. Covering the unit with fire, he was injured, incompatible with life. The Golden Star also received the parents of a mortar battery commander, Senior Lieutenant Andrew Soroka, who last summer was distinguished in battles near Marinka in Donetsk region. He also heroically brought the seriously wounded brother from the battlefield.

He was posthumously awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine and the chief sergeant of the fire support company Alexander Fedorchenko. In January 2023, more than 60 wounded servicemen were evacuated due to his actions. In March in Donetsk, his crew came under mortar shelling, and Oleksandr Fedorchenko was fatal. The Order also received the native military physician Yevgeny Khrappka, who since 2014 was serving a volunteer in the ATO area in the Donbass, and since 2016-in the Armed Forces.

After a full -scale invasion of the Russian Federation defended Kharkiv and participated in the liberation of settlements of Kharkiv region, saving the lives of many servicemen. In June 2022, a car with a crew of Eugene ran into a mine, as a result of the explosion he died. In addition, the head of state presented the Order of the Golden Star to the Hero of Ukraine, the pilot of army aviation Major Alexei Grebenshchikov, who from the first days of the war selflessly defends Ukraine.

In March last year, in difficult conditions, he performed tasks to support the defenders of Mariupol. In October 2022-January 2023, he planned operations during the liberation of Mykolaiv region and the right-bank part of Kherson region. Also, the highest state award was awarded to Lieutenant Colonel Semen Kukharenko, who defended the settlements of Donetsk region in the spring and summer of 2023, including Bakhmut.

Due to the successful aerobus of the consolidated group and the work of the group of drone-Kamikadze operators, a lot of living power and technique of the enemy was destroyed. The Golden Star from the President was received by Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Marchuk, who in July this year with his subordinates stormed the positions of Russian troops in Zaporozhye. Having undergone barotrauma, he continued to manage the unit, without loss, removed the personnel through the replaced area.

The title of Hero of Ukraine with the award of the "Golden Star" was awarded Lieutenant Colonel Cyril, under the leadership of which from July to August 2023, 65 enemy aircraft were destroyed. Hero of Ukraine, a pilot of the army aviation, captain Igor Kharchenko, who made 107 Russian departments, was also received from the president's hands of the president. In March he participated in the operation to support the defenders of Mariupol.

The Golden Star was also awarded to Senior Lieutenant Sergei Kharchenko, who from the first days of the war in the Battalion of the National Guard of Ukraine has destroyed many Russian invaders. He was seriously injured but continued his service. During a battle that lasted more than 10 hours, he was able to adjust the fire of artillerymen, which resulted in the destruction of almost 100 invaders and about 20 units of armored vehicles.

Volodymyr Zelensky also presented the President of Ukraine "Cross of Merit" to four servicemen. The head of state handed over to Ukrainian defenders the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky I-III degrees, "for courage" of the third degree, "for services" of the third degree, the Order of Danylo Halytsky.
