The event is time to realize the "deadlock of the war," in Ukraine - Lavrov
According to him, this West has unleashed a war in Ukraine, and therefore "it was time to realize the hopelessness of" this war, which was "embarrassed against the Russian Federation," TASS reports.
Speaking at a press conference after meeting with Belarusian colleague Sergiy Aleinik, the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry stated that in the Kremlin they hear the conversations of "prudent Western politicians" that the Ukrainian authorities "did not play the role of a tool for undermining the safety of the Russian Federation and the extermination of all Russian" in Ukraine. "You hear the grades that are heard by the prudent politicians in NATO and the European Union.
It is better late than never. It is time for them to realize the full deadlock of the war that they had delayed the hands of Zelensky's regime against the Russian Federation," Lavrov said. At the same time, the head of Russian diplomacy touched the topic of peace talks. At the same time, he referred to President Vladimir Putin, who also spoke on this issue, in particular on December 14 during a large press conference.
"The president has touched on this topic as he did many times in the previous months. We have never gone from the negotiations, and the question should not be forwarded to us," the Russian minister replied. Lavrov also stressed that certain agreements between Ukraine and the Russian Federation were already reached in April 2022. But now the longer hostilities in Ukraine will last, the more difficult the conditions for Kiev will be, for which such negotiations can begin.
