"Hears" drones and rockets: as the Fenek system protects Ukraine's infrastructure (video)

Thanks to the sensitive microphones, the technology named after the ear fox determines the distance, direction and speed of air threats. Octava Defense has introduced a new FENEK acoustic search system, which is part of the "sphere" platform designed to protect critically important objects in Ukraine from Russian drones and missiles. Details The founder of the project Alexander Kardakov told in an interview with dev. ua.

Fenek allows you to identify and identify air goals with high accuracy, determine their direction, speed and distance. The system has advantages over other market solutions, such as smartphones and specialized military systems, thanks to a large number of microphones and the use of mathematical algorithms. The range of sound perception of such a system depends on the weather conditions and can reach from 2 to 10 kilometers. More accurate results are achieved when using several sensors.

Acoustic search systems can be integrated with radar systems to expand the area. "It will no longer just be a statistical system, but a tool for detecting and identifying goals that can be integrated into aircraft system. Such systems can be paired with radar systems that are traditionally weak, for example, in lowlands, rivers where the waves are faded" , - said Alexander Kardakov.

According to him, if you install two echelons of devices at a distance of 20-25 kilometers from the target, then the accuracy will be already high. 5-6 minutes before approaching the object, defenders can learn about the direction and type of goal. And the goals themselves will be ready even for whipping in manual mode. Kardakov also told reporters why the FENEK acoustic search system was named: "Fenek is a fox that lives in the deserts of North Africa.

It has very large ears and is similar to the device itself. " It should be noted that the FENEK acoustic search system is a component of a unified platform for the protection of the critical infrastructure of the "sphere", which Octava Defense works on. Initially, the radar station located outside the object detects targets up to 30 km. After that, the echelorated system of acoustic Fenek sensors determines the azimuth, the angle of the city and identifies the target.

And the CCTV subsystem provides visual and thermal round -the -clock observation. Further, information from the radar station, acoustics and video surveillance systems is transmitted to the management, visualization and analysis subsystem. It is processed automatically and gives the command to the UAV destruction subsystem and is transmitted by the ABC units and other anti -aircraft and small arms equipped.

At the same time, all information about the target and its trajectory is transmitted to the tablets of the security units equipped with small arms. Earlier, Alexander Kardakov said that Ukraine needs to use a special acoustic detection system to improve the protection of energy objects from the strikes of Russians. According to the expert, the expansion of the speaker and combined use with other means of detection makes such a system pointless.
