Russia offers North Korea food in exchange for ammunition - the media

The delegation of the Russian Federation, according to the White House, will in the near future ask for a weapon in official Pyongyang. The White House stated that Russia can send a delegation to North Korea because it seeks to get more weapons from Pyongyang. John Kirby, a spokesman for the US National Security Council, reported on March 30, CNN writes. He noted that the White House received new information about Russia's intentions to buy additional ammunition in North Korea.

The country is planning to send a Russian delegation, which will be agreed on the relevant supply to the territory of the Russian Federation. "Russia offers North Korea food in exchange for ammunition," Kirby said. The White House Representative added that Ashot Mrthichev's weapon was interested in Russia, because with his help the Kremlin can try to bypass unprecedented sanctions that have been imposed since 2022. Kirby did not explain the ability to influence export control.

"We will block such actions without hesitation," Kirby added. He promised to continue to identify and resist Russia's attempts to buy weapons in different countries of the world. The US intends to take measures to supply equipment from North Korea or any other country that is ready to support the war of Russian invaders against Ukraine.

Recall that in August 2022, The Wall Street Journal reported that the invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine created opportunities for North Korea, which could strengthen ties with Moscow. At that time, journalists stated that Pyongyang plans to send his workers to the occupied territory of the Luhansk and Donetsk regions.
