Scholz about income from the assets of the Russian Federation: they do not belong to anyone, they must be transferred to Ukraine

German Chancellor is convinced that the necessary ammunition for the Armed Forces could be purchased for these funds. German Chancellor Olaf Scholtz is convinced that the income from the assets of the Russian Federation is not owned by anyone, so they can be directed to military assistance to Ukraine. The politician published such a statement during the EU summit in Brussels. "It is about the proceeds that do not have the owner. Therefore, they can use the European Union," he explained.

Among other things, Scholz is convinced that the primary purpose of using these funds should be the purchase of all the necessary weapons and ammunition required by Ukraine for further self -defense. German Chancellor added that she is optimistic about the likelihood of negotiating this issue with other EU leaders.

It should be noted that before this, Belgium Government Alexander de Croo stated that he was ready to support the European Union's proposal to use income from frozen Russian assets for the purchase of weapons for Ukraine. In the United States, on January 11, they voted in favor of a bill that provides for confiscation of $ 300 billion of Russian frozen assets. The White House was informed of the intentions to transfer the specified amount for the restoration of Ukraine.
